Welcome to this sneak peek of our new graphic adventure Gruesome Castle - due
out sometime in 1998.
Gruesome Castle concerns the exploits of Jake and Anna King and their pals
Skip, Wendy, Brad and Jeepers the dino-monkey. Together they form the Gee
Whiz! Mystery Club - an adventurous gang of teens who travel the world solving
mysteries.

In this demo you control Jake King - the main objective is to find
your way inside the castle. After that just have fun exploring.
Before running the game you may need to run the SETUP.EXE program to make
sure that the correct Direct 3D card driver has been selected. Choose the
driver and press OK.
KEYBOARD CONTROLS:

cursor keys - move Jake around
left shift key - hold to run
CTRL - hold for look around mode
z - look at an object / binocular zoom
x - use an object / binocular zoom
c - open/close inventory ring
TAB - open/close inventory ring
SPACE - skip through text
a - change camera modes between:
1) Room Cameras
2) 3rd person camera variable direction
3) 3rd person over the shoulder camera
s - move camera in/out for camera modes 2) and 3)
q - quit the game
MICROSOFT JOYPAD CONTROLS:

CAMERA ICONS:

Yellow Camera - This signifies room camera mode
The game will select the best viewing angle
depending on where Jake walks
Green Camera - 3rd Person variable direction mode
The camera will stay at a selected distance
from Jake (represented by the person icon)
Use the S key (Y joypad button) and the
direction controls to move the camera in/out
and around Jake
Blue Camera - 3rd Person over the shoulder mode
Use the S key (Y joypad button) and the
direction controls to move the camera in/out
Red Camera - This means that the game has overriden the
current camera mode. You cannot change modes
while this icon is displayed. This is
displayed during cut scenes or when a special
camera angle is required.

GAME PLAY FEATURES:

1) Taking control of Jake, players can explore a large castle with scores of rooms, including a Dungeon, Hedge Maze, Vast Underground Catacombs and a Spooky graveyard
2) Each location is very large with dozens of characters and objects to interact with
3) Witty dialog via a conversation system that allows you to talk to all the game characters
4) Inventory system lets you examine and manipulate all of the items that you find during your adventure
5) Ability to read books allows you to read from the extensive library and uncover the dark secrets of Gruesome Castle
6) Dynamic cameras in every room give a cinematic feel to game play with pans, tilts and dollies. Players can change from the default mode to any of the many alternative viewing modes allowing them to place the camera where they want it.
7) Includes a Bonus Mystery Quest mode where you seek out the Mystery Club Bonus Items that are hidden throughout the locations. Recovering all the Bonus Items reveals a secret room
8) Look around mode allows you to look at the 3D location from any angle
